Michael Turner, comic artist powerhouse, passes away

I caught a blurb last night on Adult Swim. They posted condolescences for his passing. Not having kept up with the comic book world for a while i was stunned and confused. Then I found an article here about the tragic news.

I recall seeing his art in the pages of Witchblade some ten years ago. It was breath-taking. He captured form and figure that blew me, and millions of other fan boys, away. It's always sad when someone steps across the veil to the otherside. Even more so when a true talent is no more.

Rest in peace, Michael.

Fiction Finds

One of my favorite venues is the short story. It takes you off to a different realm, sweeping you away for a short time before throwing you back into reality. On a good day you can launch into several such journeys and never be dissatisfied.

I found a new collection that caught my attention being a child of the Seventies. I remember commercials for the old Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits, or movies like "Beyond the Door". They used to creep me out with their pure specualtion of strange things to come. Now, there's The Dimemsion Next Door, thirteen mind bending tales from some talented folks. My TBR list is getting pretty damned thick and I'm about to add this to the stack.
